can you end an auction once someone starts bidding on it?

I'm selling some motorcycle bodywork on ebay but a local guy is going to come and he might pick it up from me but I have two bids on it already so I'm wondering if I can still cancel the auction.

He's also interested in another piece on ebay but that doesn't have any bids on it and I've heard I should be able to cancel that auction.

What do you guys think?

Sure, just cancel the bids and end the auction.

it is your property... you can do whatever you like with it, until it is paid for by someone else.

ebay like to say that there policy is that you cannot end an auction if there are bids or if there is less than 12 hours left of something stupid like that... but bottom line... it is your property. you will just have to eat the listing fees.
