I just got a new pair and they are the perfect color and don't want them to fade, so can I take them to the dry cleaners unless the tag explicitly says do not dry clean?

I wouldn't do that - the chemicals in the dry cleaning process can damage the denim.

Edit: In my experience dry-cleaning jeans has actually led to premature fading. Maybe it's just my dry cleaner's...

Wash them inside out according to the directions on the label, and then hang dry them. They shouldn't fade if you do that. Mine haven't and I've washed them many times.

they won't damage the denim.

washing jeans in the laundry will make them more prone to fading.

if you dry-clean them, be sure to specify if you want a crease in them or not (like dress pants...right down the front of your leg).

If it doesn't suggest dry cleaning the article, don't.

To preserve the colour of any article, wash it inside out, in cold water, using appropriate laundry detergent. Hang the article to dry.

No matter what you do, after repeated washings the article's colour will gradually fade.

when you drop off your jeans, some cleaners will washing them in the laundry (with water and detergent, just like at home) unless you specify you want them dry cleaned.
