Currently an accounting major at leventhal school of accounting (USC)

And I fvcking hate it. What I DO like to do is manage people...

But are management degrees even worth it? It almost seems like management degrees are a dime a dozen...

I'm in a top ranked accounting program, set to get like 50k starting when I graduate. But I'll hate my life.

Anybody with a management degree care to chip in?

maybe you can start a business, be your own boss, and then ultimately get enough staff to manage them?

it's harder than it seems, as you'll need the capital first. don't think you'll hate your life. when you graduate, you may not like what you start off with, but it will get better. don't look at it as a career move. it's just a job, and many people change jobs within their first few years of graduating college (i'm on my 3rd).

You would probably be looking at at a job in HR. So you can be an evil HR director
Or you can get further your education after accounting, how far along are you into that?

Hey, my cousin goes there.

In reality, you can do anything with any degree. I just read that person that handles government work (city council stuff, I think) graduated with a degree in bio. A friend's brother was a philosphy major and worked in HR. Who knows man.

its pretty much useless. I know because I have a 2 degrees in management.

get one in finance/economics. It will give you a LOT more opportunities and you can apply for the same stuff as management degrees.

if you are far enough along in your accounting degree you might want to stick it out. You don;t have to do accounting stuff later, but you will have to do analysis of numbers- from accounting.

DO NOT DO MGT. BY ITSELF. If you are going to do management, double major in something else. The reason is that companies will not hire a manager without experience, so how would you get your first job? I suggest picking two business majors and then going back to get your MBA in 3 or 4 years. From there, you then could manage people.

I'm a MIS || Finance major and I start working for one of the big 4 this summer.

I'm a college student myself so I can't offer the best advice, but I don't think a Business Management degree alone will be very impressive. My brother has an MBA and started with $70k out of grad school, so obviously he is somewhat saught after.
