i am 99.9% sure you can AS LONG AS... you don't use the NTFS on that partition.

If you use system commander. It would be much more reliable to use seperate partitions, though.

After using both OS's I've realized that I only want to use win 2k. win2k runs so much better. I just need to figure out whether cdrwin or nero works with win 2k. If it does, i'll make the switch.

byron is correct,

You can use both on the same partition, as long as they use the same file system (FAT32). If you convert the drive to NTFS for Win2K, WinME will no longer work.

don't do it, unless you are horribly short on hdd space! as ctll says, they share vital folders for some files, most notable being IE, which resides in /program files, and each OS has specific and invariable settings which'll screw you up the ass...hard

yes, you can do that (not recommended though)
1. Load Windows ME in C:\Windows
2. Insert Win2000 and do a clean install (not an upgrade), under Advanced options choose: "Let me specify partition"
3. Install Windows 2000 in C:\Winnt

Keep in mind that folders like C:\Program Files are shared and certain programs which work in Win2000 won't work correctly in WinMe and other way around. Good luck!

CDRWIN and Nero both work in w2k as well as clone cd. diskjuggler and all of em that i have tried et al adaptic. You have to install the aspi drivers and it will work fine. I use all of the ones i mentioned except for adaptic on the same OS>
