Can you display scientific notation in Microsoft Word 2003?

Like 4^5, except just have the 5 smaller and to the upper right of the 4? Is this possible, and how do you do it?

Highlight the 5 and make it Superscript (Format -> Font, check "Superscript"). Rinse & Repeat for anything time you want to do that.
