Can you disable text messages on T-Mobile?

Since T-Mobile chargest 10 cents per message, I'd rather not tell all the people on my contact list to not send me any text messages. I'm using a Sony Ericsson T610. I wonder if there's a GSM phone that doesn't have text messaging capability.

Are you sure it's including incoming messages? If that were true then people would just spam people over the internet.

Usually it's only for outgoing messages..

It's both. They used to give you 50 free incoming messages per month, but I think they got rid of that.

I'm pretty sure it's any outgoing/incoming messages from non-t-mobile customers.

I believe you can do this as well. I know my friend did this with his Cingular phone and I'd suspect that T-Mobile would have the functionality as well.
