Wow.

I was in a hurry leaving lunch to go back to work, and posted SLI, instead of Crossfire.

Thanks for the responses.

My original question, Should I buy a x1900xtx crossfire edition to link with my x1800xt, or just get an 1800 crossfire.

I believe you answered it by stating that the 1900 would just run as an 1800 equivalent.

Or buy the 1900 if I plan to get a 2nd one down the road.

Once Again thanks.

ATI has no SLI. So what are you talking about.
Also what card do you have now? A X1900XT???

You can do crossfire with an x1900 Crossfire edition and a x1800xt/x. BUT its not wise since the x1900 will downgrade to equal the x1800. However, if youre settingup for somethng better later (x1900 Crossfire + x1900xt) then you can do it in the mean time. So then you should sell the x1800xt and get a regular one...

But that's confusing. Just buy an x1900xt and sell your x1800.

hehe...

think he's asking cause it's damn near impossible to find a 1800xt master.

but an 1800xt/1900xt running @ 1800xt crossfire would still be faster than his single 1800xt, and he could always upgrade to the 1900xt "slave" at a later time (assuming you can mix & match the 1800/1900 to run in crossfire mode; i am not sure of that one way or the other).

the other choice would be to grab one of the refurbished x1800xt crossfire edition for $299 from ati
