Can you copy a DVD to hard drive...?

I have 3 young kids and a wife. I like to watch really extreme horror and to be honest I can only watch in sections at a time ( due to the family limitations and all). I'm thinking it might be possible to rent the video, copy onto my hard drive, then watch it through win dvd on my PC then erase it. Sure would cut down on my overdue charges. ANyone know if this is a reasonable assumption? Thanks

Yep, you can. You need to use a program to decrypt the files. I recommend:

DVD Decryptor

I also use dvddecrypter for the same reasons you mentionned, I hate late fees.
