The digitalproductid in the registry is a string of letters and numbers that windows reads to come up with your cd key. There are plenty of programs that can convert that registry key into the cd key, but is there a program that will convert the cd key into the digitalproductid?

If you just want the Product ID right click on My Computer and check the properties it will be listed there.

If you want the Digital Product ID open " regedit " from the run command on the start menu. Then browse down to:

" Hkey_Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version "

In the right pane you will see " DigitalProductID " in a REG BINARY format, like a4 00 00 00 03... very long number ...

Yes, I know this. I asked if there was a program out there that could convert a cd key you enter into a digitalproductid, the long number that you get when you go into the registry.

LOL, good answer. Well, there are programs out there that are supposed to be able to change the cd key you have on your windows installation. It seems that these programs do not always work though, I was thinking that being able to create a registry file with the digitalproductid in it would be a better method then trying these cd key changer programs that don't always work.
