Can you configure IE so it opens winamp for mp3s?

Anyone know how to do that? When I click on a mp3 in IE (crazybrowser, actually), I'd like it to open up winamp...is that possible?

Won't it automatically open with whatever program is associated with the file type?

I just made a test document on my system, & it played with Quicktime...

There's got to be some sort of association for it.

Which OS?

If it's 2k or XP, go to control panel, folder options, and then select file types tab. You can assign winamp to MP3 files from there.

Mine is set that way, but the browser is playing the file within the IE window (using QuickTime).

I disabled all of QuickTime's file associations, and it's still doing it.

If you go into advanced options in IE, you can disable the "play within browser" options. See if that helps.

Next on the server project.. try and get the damn thing to play in WinAmp..

If you can find info on how to connect to Winamp or how winamp playlists go.. let me know.. I need to get it to stream on to winamp.

Entity is using a program I wrote with help of my brother.

Its right now on selected beta test..more features will be added.. I havent had time with my car giving trouble.. will get a look later this evening.

if you want the proggie.. get it from Here

Entity can give you instructions on how to use it.. I have to go.. my darling Roxanne is at the service desk today.. I need to go flirt with her.. ;)

I use andromeda (similar program) and mine works. Try finding the association with playlists that is the one that needs to be changed, not the mp3 one.

Now when I click a mp3 file, it opens WMP, but gives me this:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play.

I've tried queuing the mp3 file locally, and it works fine. :p

Ok, I think it must be something with the way TGG's program writes to the HTML - I uploaded a file manually to a different webserver, and it worked just fine when I clicked it. :p
