Can you comment on this core 2 setup?

I'm planning on upgrading from s939 winchester 3200 to core 2 duo 6600, probably before 1st August. I want to be able to overclock as much as possible. The setup which I could build using currently available products is below. I would really appreciate any comments before jumping in re. these points:

Is fast (expensive) memory worth it?
Is it better to have 2x512MB or 1x1GB?
What would be the best air-cooled cpu cooler?
Do you think quality mainboards at much lower prices will come out in the next month?

The components I'm thinking of getting are:

CPU: Intel core 2 duo (339 euro)
Mainboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe (219 euro)
Memory: 1 GB, 1 stick, DDR-2 800 CL5 Kingston HyperX (KHX6400D2/1G) (136 euro)

Many thanks

thats true, 2gb is enough for now...maybe 4gb will become more of a standard once vista is out but certainly not now.

Repaired.

He's got it right.

I've heard good things about that Asus motherboard, but it is expensive. If you want similar performance for a cheaper price, check out the Gigabyte DS3. It doesn't support dual video card, but is made with high end components such as all solid caps.
