i don't see any real problems, but i would definitely use compressed air first, and a q-tip as last resort.

some people might say "oh worry about static" and what not, but trust me, i've seen mobo's manhandled by much worse things than q-tips before, and they still work like a champ.

so all i'm saying is to be safe, use compressed air first

Once my dog took a leak on my pentium 120. I pulled out the mobo and all the cards and washed them in distilled water. After it was dry the system still ran frawlessly. The case rusted pretty quickly though.

To answer your question I think a Q-tip would be fine.

I would not recommend using a solvent to spring clean your PCB's. All you need to use is canned air.

a qtip is alright, just make sure not to leave any lint/cotton. Alchohol is usually pretty good. If you want some good stuff buy some DeoxIt. It helps conductivity better, i found it to be pretty damn good.
