Just wondering... I have verizon right now, and I would like to continue service, but I would also like a new phone. Can I cancel my service, and then the next day subscribe again to get a deal on a new phone? I understand that if I do this I will get a new phone number and contract, which would be all right with me.

As long as your not in a contract now, i dont see why not.

Keep in mind, if youve been a customer for awhile, alot of the time they will give you a good deal on a new phone without you having to cancel and start up again...

Yes BUT most phone companies do not consider you a NEW CUSTOMER until 30 or 90 days after your current account is closed. So yes it is possible but you're probably going to have to wait.

That's what I like about SprintPCS. I can switch phones at will with no penalties or charges. :D
Switched from my ailing Sanyo SCP6000 to a Samsung N400 (POS!! :|) to my Treo 300 in the course of a week. No charge for ESN change or anything. No need to buy a new plan either.

Depends on the place you got your phone from. If you got it from a Verizon retail store or any big B&M store I'd assume they wouldn't let you do it.
