Can you buy K6-3 laptops? Who makes them?

I'd like a laptop with a K6-3 in it....
It's cheaper than the celeron, and it's huge L1 and L2 cache make it quite quick for integer performance, as does it's 100Mhz FSB compared to the celerons 66Mhz....(the Duron is of course too power thirsty)

I just want like 128MB of RAM, a K6-3/400, a 10gig hard drive, a 14" screen, maybe a DVD Rom but it's not really necessary....most laptops either don't have enough RAM or they have way to much of everything for my needs...and cost to much...for what I'm using it for I do not need a P3-800....

Any suggestions? I'm also interested in Transmeta....but I haven't seen how they perform yet...

Lower priced laptops from many companies have K6 series processors in them. HP has K6 based laptops, as does Sony. Compaq did at one time, but I don't know if they still do. Usually the K6's are around 500MHz, but you can still find 450's and 475's in some places. Try checking Sony, HP and Compaq. Now that I think of it, Gateway may have K6 laptops, as they do have AMD based desktops, but I am far from certain. Happy hunting.

I don't think I've ever seen a K6-3 notebook. Plenty of K6-2's, of course.

How about a K6-2+? That's the latest mobile chip from AMD, and I believe it is comparable to the old, discontinued, K6-3.

The K6-2+ has 128k L2 cache, the older K6-3 had 256k

But with 64k L1 that's probably alright....I like the k6 over the celeron more for the PC100 SDRAM.

You can also buy a regular k6 laptop then add a k6 3+ cpu in it later.

truedataproducts often sell K6 laptops they live right in my city and i see em at computer shows all the time.
