Can you buy just a prepaid/refillable SIM from a TMobile store?

My mom just got here (NYC) from San Diego. She's displaced from New Orleans because of the hurricane and has a 504 area code cell with TMobile. Want to get her a NYC area code SIM for more reliable communication in the meantime. Just buying a SIM would be best, just curious before I go to the TMo store tomorrow.

TMobile.com just shows phones, but they must have SIMs that contain the billing info.
 
thats stupid. long distance is free for her to call you. if u actually have a land line call her hang up and have her call you back

In case you haven't noticed, New Orleans is under water right now. 504 cellphones aren't exactly reliable. I'm looking for more reliable communications, not to save a buck.
