Can you buy any DL DVD burner and put it in a MAC?

I have a G4 with a single layer DVD burner but am trying to burn a dual layer disc.

I have a Pioneer DL burner in a Vista machine. Would the MAC be able to use it if I installed it in there?

Yes, any regular PATA DVD burner will work. We switch them out here at work all the time.

If you are using Leopard you don't need anything, if you're using Tiger then use what Kaido said.
