Can YOU burn to a RW @ 4x using Nero?

I have a Plextor 8x4x32. I can burn to CD-R's using Nero 5. @ 8x no prob. but when i try to burn to a RW it will only give the option to burn at 2x. Is this something with me or Nero. I also have the same problem when burn with CDRWIN, can't burn at 4x RW's

It works just fine burning to an RW @ 4x when i use Plextor Manager.

if your cdrw is rated at 2x then Nero won't burn it at 4x. Like my burner can burn cdr at 12x with just about any cheap cdr's but when it comes to cdrw it won't burn at 10x if the cdrw's rated at 4x.

i had the same problem with my plex 8x4x32. to get it to do a rw @ 4x i had to let it do a simulation again. since then it's been no problem at all.

i have a 8x4x32 burner.....
i use the same RW cd and can only burn at a 2x speek with nero, but can burn at a 4x using plextor manager.

pc freak..i know it wasn't meant for me..no worries mate. but i had the exact same problem. nero would not let my plex 8x4x32 ide cdrw drive do rw's at 4x. it use to, then stopped for a while. so do a simulation at 4x with a rw disc and from then on you should have no problems. oh, also, i got rid of the plexmanager stuff. i always preferred nero and clone CD.

Ok, i tried it. Still didn't help.
I ran the simulaton and burned the cd. it ran at 2x. then once it was completed i tried another rw cd and it still only let me burn at 2x.
it's quite frustutating.
I didn't like the Plextor manager untill a few days ago when i discoverd that the new ver will reconize my Toshiba ide cdrom. I like the Disk Dupe for cd to cd copy's thats the only reason i have it.

Any other suggestion on this strange problem
