Can you burn 2 dvd's or cd's at once with 2 NEC 3500A and Nero 6?

^ what he said. I have a lite-on 8x DVDRW and a liteon 52x cdrw and I can burn 2x cd's or 1x cd and 1x dvd without problems. Just open nero burning rom 2x and select the correct drive for each.

Nero used to have a feature, that would allow you to burn to multiple (identical) drives at once. Does Nero 6 not support that anymore? IIRC, retail-purchased Nero 5 supported two drives at once, and you could purchase a special plug-in that allowed supporting more drives, up to a total of 32 drives as once.

I used to burn multiple discs in (different) burners, using multiple instances of CDRWin.

make sure your computer is fast enough (cpu, ram, hard drive) and don't do anything heavy i.e. chat and/or surf only.

because it will just slow your PC down and may result in a bad burn. That is why many people sugges not having anything runnign in the background when burning stuff. So i do not reccomend burning 2 things at once.

If you want to do this it is a standard feature of Nero and each drive should be on its own IDE channel. And the source disk should probably be imaged to a HD first and burn from the image. Luckily IDE cards are cheap (Syba ATA/RAID card, based on SiliconImage chip can handle any type of drive - less than $25. shipped at newegg, dealsonic, etc. ). I recommend each IDE drive have its own channel for optimum performance as only one drive per channel can operate at a time.

shyeah right, i can play games while I burn 8x dvds on a duron, never get coasters. the buffer protection they have now is much better than you'd think.

Just select the files you wish to burn. When you pick burn, toward the bottom is a checkbox that says use multiple recorders. Check it and say OK. The next screen will ask you to select the recorders to use. Select the ones you wish to use and say OK. I have done this many times without problems.
