Can you bring fresh flowers on an airplane?

I shipped my girlfriend fresh flowers yesterday, but she is getting on a plane in the morning. Is bringing these aboard allowed? If she puts them in between her legs can she bring them in addition to her carry-on?

Seems like a pain in the ass to carry with you while in the seat and it'll likely get crushed in the compartments

Call the airline in advance? Unless you're carrying onboard a full blown boquete which may be a bother to other passengers I don't think this is an issue inside the US.

Wouldn't that kill the flowers?

....I mean, they might get crushed down there. 😉

Unless you're flying to/from Hawaii...

I operate on the assumption that I am lucky if they let me bring the clothes I am wearing on to an airplane these days.

Invasive species (flora AND fauna).

In case the OP still needs an answer: Yes you can, but there's no guarantee that they won't be crushed if you're forced to place them in a secure place. I've taken live potted plants onto planes and the TSA did not say anything.
