I don't even know how to play poker, and that looks bad. At least you got lots of twos.

Yes I can actually. Looks like the hands I was getting in my Friday night live game.

You probably could have bluffed your way through at least one of those hands.

is one of the BEST hands you can make in poker (assuming you are holding 2 7 in your hand). nobody ever sees it, nobody will ever think you are holding the boat.

obviously someone has to win

People do make money but it's definetly not me. I just play the $1-5 one table tournaments and if I do win I just make a few bucks. Took me about a month to win $45 bucks. Maybe I can quit my day job and just play poker all day.

The poker site makes the money. The more pots are played, the more rakes they collect. Plus the fee for joining the tournaments.

Poker tournies can be hugely profitable for the house. That's why there's been such an explosion of them in the past few years. Think of the WSOP main event. More than 5000 players paid a $10k buy-in to vie for a roughly $20 million purse. Oops, where'd the other $30 million go? ;)

BTW: Play your opponent, not your cards. That's harder to do online than in real life, but it's still the only way to win the game.

Over a month I make more playing a couple hours an evening 4-6 evenings a week than I do with my 40 hour a week job. And I make a pretty decent salary at my regular job. This is playing relatively small stakes no limit hold'em. Every now and then I honestly consider quitting my job but I really just don't want that pressure. *shrugs*

The chance of getting those number can be high as computers ARE NOT RANDOM!
Some crapy algorithms are known to produce results such as yours.

It's not that bad of a deal for the players:

Event #42 No Limit Texas Hold 'em World Championship
Buy-in: $10,000
Number of Entries: 5,619
Total Prize Money: $52,818,610

That was for the 2005 main event.

ive been playing at full tilt for about 3 months with a 400.00 stake and so far im ahead about 11k.

its alot harder online than in person because you really have to play your cards more than the person IMHO.

i like the sit and go tournys but found that if you enter larger purse tournys and play tight then its easy to money.

Just have patience. Everyone wants to get good hands right away. There have been times when I have been in Casinos and not played a hand for hours... it sucks... but it is a lot better than trying to play crappy hands and getting burned with them.

My first hand online at a real money table was AA. I took that as a good omen until they were cracked on the river.

Was it a structured betting table or a home game? I see stuff likefrequently when I am playing a structured betting game at a Casino.

It's alot harder to bluff your opponents online that in person. You can't see them.
