Can Yahoo email and Hotmail be checked with Outlook?

Somewhere I read you can check Gmail with Outlook but what about Hotmail and Yahoo email?

You read correctly. I can....but you cannot. Sorry.

Yes, Hotmail can be checked with Outlook; however, I don't remember how. I know it's been posted on AT before.

Also, you can check yahoo mail with Outlook (via POP3), but you have to pay a fee per year to have access to the servers.

in Outlook 2003:

tools->email accounts -> add new account -> HTTP -> figure the rest out.

I can check both with my phone, so I don't see why not.

WAP and HTTP are not the same as IMAP and POP3. That's why not.

I'm not browsing it is a setting on my phone when setting up accounts. I select it, and my mail shows up. I suppose they could be screen scraping it for me on their end. *shrug*

Does not Hotmail require a subscription upgrade for pop and http access at the moment? I use to get Hotmail via http in Outlook 03 then MS canceled the http access sometime last year for free accounts.

What they also might be doing is just streaming raw data to your phone when the network itself is connecting to the mail server and downloading the mail. The mail still sits on the phone network, but the network streams some basic stuff to your phone.
