so i decided to play around and see if i can bump it up a little... i have an asus p4c800-e mb with a p4 2.4-c. i really don't know anything about what voltages should be, so i leave it at "auto"... maybe that's screwing it up or something, because i can't even set the fsb to 210. if i do anything like that my computer doesn't show anything.. just a blank screen, then i have to pop in the asus cd and change it back.

not sure if it matters, but i have 4 dimm's of kingston hyper-x 3200... the timings i have are as rated, 2-3-2-6-1T.

surely i should be able to at least overlock the fsb 10 measly mhz?

thanks :)

what is the voltage on your RAM? If it's at default you probably want at least 2.7v, and for CPU set it at 1.6v just to give you a little breathing room. Maybe loosen your RAM timings and see how far you can go. Good luck

GoPunk,

Start off by raising that Vdimm to 2.8v ( don't worry, perfectly safe )

As the person above me stated, 1.6v is a good Vcore for a P4, that should be enough to get you somewhere around 3ghz...

Try the timings of 2/3/3/7

remember your mileage will vary, noone is guarenteed 3.0ghz+ from a 2.4c only 2.4ghz...

That said I run 3.01ghz just fine at 1.525v (stock), most 2.4c processors will do around 2.9-3.4 but after 3.0 some voltage and or extra cooling may be req.
