Just curious. I was pretty certain that 4GB DIMM support only came about for P45 and G41 boards, and that X48 (which was really just a binned X38, with support for 400FSB), was limited to 2GB DIMMs.

But if anyone knows for sure, please let me know. I have some chinese 4GB DDR2 DIMMs, that amazingly, work in my P35 DDR2 board, but only at 2GB capacity. I do have a DDR2 P45 board, that I'm going to eventually try them in, but I was wondering about my spare X48 board as well.

My P45 motherboard only supported up to 2GB DIMMs, although it worked with DDR3, not DDR2.

At that, it was picky as hell about package density.
