Can WMP act as a UPnP *client*?

I am running Vista Ultimate on my laptop.

I thought I read on Wikipedia that the Windows Media Player can act as both a UPnP server AND a client. However, I can't figure out how to use the WMP as a client. The laptop sees my hardware UPnP server and my hardware UPnP player on the network, but WMP is oblivious to them.

Could someone please tell me how to get to my UPnP server from within WMP? Or do I need an add-on?

Thank you.

I'm not positive, but it might just be WMP to WMP, so users can share their libraries with each other. You said WMP is oblivious, so they don't show up in the sharing section of the library options?

Here's the firewall/port requirements according to the help file:
Port | Protocol | Scope
1900 | UDP | local subnet only
2869 | TCP | local subnet only
10243 | TCP | local subnet only
10280-10284 | UDP | local subnet only

Also:
What equipment do I need?
To share your media, you need the following hardware and software:
- A wired or wireless home network. For details, see What are the network and firewall requirements?
- Either a device known as a networked digital media player (sometimes called a digital media receiver) or another computer running Windows Vista. Networked digital media players are hardware devices that connect to your wired or wireless network and allow you to browse and play content from your Windows Media Player library?even if your computer is in another room. For a list of compatible devices, see the PlaysForSure Web site.

Thanks. I'll check the ports when I get home. The hardware UPnP player sees the hardware UPnP server, so the ports are open in the router. Maybe there is a Vista-integrated firewall on the laptop that is blocking them.

The laptop DOES see both hardware devices which has to be a good sign. Honestly, I could not even find an obvious way to browse the content on the UPnP server <edit> from within WMP</edit>. I know I can get to it as a UNC share, but I want it to be STREAMED from the server (like it does to the hardware player), not file-transferred (as in copied).
