Can windows updates be done without going to Microsoft's web site?

I know there are service packs for NT and 2k. You can download these and install them on any machine needing the updates. That's pretty useful especially if you're working with computers that don't have network access.

It seems like being able to download patches and updates to Windows and have them on a CD or disk would be pretty useful.

Anyone know?

I know there is a section that you can download a bunch of goodies for various OS's based on the installed software and such. I think it's http://corporate.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

I tried this a bit ago and never got the right combination so that I was getting all the "critical updates" from the regular WU site. Give it a shot and see how it goes

sweet.. thanks FUBAR. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Just looked for the Windows 98 updates with IE 5.0 and there are so many. A lot of them seem to be pretty useless to me though. If there was a way to manage all of the updates (imagine running like 50+ by hand!).

Does anyone know if a service pack is just a collection of these updates then?
