A strict base install of 98 should leave about 800mb free. Don't select any unnecessary options ie. Accessibility, Desktop Themes, Outlook Express, etc.

If you can afford about $100 buy a new large gig hard drive. under current prices you may be able to buy a ten gig hard drive for less.

You are a gamer and have a measley one gig hard drive???? :Q

The computer I am in the process of building is going to be comprised of mostly old parts and it will be for my mom, but since it will be hooked up to a LAN I am going to be forced to play games over it. :) After my next pay check I might be thinking about getting a cheap 10 gig hard drive or so, but for now, I am on a tight budget buying myself a whole bunch of expensive new parts.

Heck, since it will be on a 100 base switch, I could just transfer the game I want onto the hard drive for temporary playing, and then delete it after we're done and transfer another game.
