My company wants me to make something that graphically shows everyone's data at work. Stuff like, how long they have been working, what they are working on, what they look like.

There are no requirements, but it's better to work on more systems.

First, I was working with Directx/VB

But now, I thought FLASH was a lot easier for what I'm trying to do.

So my question is, can FLASH be used for a professional application?
Can you do 3d graphics in Flash or only fake it with 2d?

From your description, sounds like some Excel charts might be the easiest route. A little VB engine to spit out some charts with nice colors and so forth.
