I live in an apartment complex with a parking lot in back. We have assisgned parking spaces for each unit (one space per unit). We occassionally have people parking in our unit's space and it's always Apt 2. They have a habit of doing it. Tonight it happened again and we're sick of it. The apartment manager isn't in, and no one's answering the door at #2. Can we call a tow truck company and have the damn car towed at their expense? What's the legality of that?

Or would it just be better to take sweet revenge upon #2 by some other means? Suggestions are welcome

The only problem with taking revenge is that they'll figure it was you who did it.....

For a prank, me and two buddies lifted the back end of this guy's car and actually moved it to a different space. He wasn't as impressed as we were.

well depending on how many people you can muster up.... one time in high school, me and about 10 guys picked up this a$$holes car and moved it side ways between two cars, where he couldnt get out. it was great. :)

Years ago, way back, some buddies and I went out to a bar. There were no parking places, so we all picked up this VW and put it up in the grass, then we parked there. Nobody said anything. I'm sure they figured out who did it. ;)

Hmmm. Apts usually have signs on their parking area. They usually have a preferred towing company and sign has its name and 24hr dispatch number for "towing, jumpstart and fuel run out service". Why not leave a note under his wiperblade? That'll usually take care of it.

Actually I like this idea... You're not doing anything wrong and he will definitely get the point... Just be careful he doesnt call a tow truck and tow YOUR car instead...

Do you really want to start a war with your neigbors without trying to settle it first... talk to them the next time you see them and ask them not to park there again...if they are going to be punks about it and if they do it again, then tow!!!

pics are coming. and yeah there is a sign in our lot with a towing company.. I think we'll give the number a call.. but i fear repercussions.. :( it'd suck if this turns into an all out war since it's not my car, it's my brother's. what i wouldn't give for a beatermobile so i can just ram that fvcker's car and be done with it.

like everyone said before, talk to them first (because you know them)

at the apt complex across from my complex (I live in the school property, so parking is open with a sticker)...they have full sheet size of papers they stick on the intruder's driver side window.

And those things sure do stick well...your talking about a 8.5 x 11" sticker pasted on your window...it takes some hard scrubbing to remove all the adhesive off

no, it wasn't me who parked in their spot, but I have seen the person go out and stick it on the car

leave a note stating that if they park in your spot one more time, their vehicles are being towed. Also complain to managment about the junk car sitting in the lot. It should be towed has well. ;)

IMHO you can do 2 things here:

A: Park right behind the SOB so he cant get out
B: Call the towing company and let the SOB be out $50-$75

we've complained, as have many others from our complex, about the parking situation to our managers.. and we're all sure it's those people... it just really pisses me off... i mean i spend 20-30 mins sometimes looking for a real parking spot in the street because we can only have one spot in the lot (as patchy mentioned, it's his brother's spot)... not only that i have to move it for street cleaning at 4am... (as a matter of fact atot is what i read when i'm bored at 4am waiting for the street cleaner so i can move my car back over.. but that's a tangent)... so point is, i spend a lot of time tring to find a legit space, and these idiots just park whatever the hell they want.. fvcking b1tches.. ugh...

oh, btw, i'm patchy's roommate... i guess i shoulda mentioned that earlier

called the tow truck company on the sign, but they said that they need authorization from the apartment manager before they can come tow it.. sucks :(

Now we have no recourse, other than leaving a note or serious vandalism. Hmm.. which one to pick.
