Locking them works just fine
 
some of them are funny. the ones that suck get punished by terrible flames and hatred. it balances out, let natural selection run its coarse

I disagree RaynorWolfcastle, some parody threads are funny; it's when the amount of threads spiral out of control that OT is hurt IMO 🙂

I'll agree that occasionally somebody comes up with a funny parody thread, unfortunately there are so many bad ones. The only way to send a message is to ban them, at least temporarily.

The "blah walks into a bar" jokes were lame as hell but every now and then the parody threads get funny. I think though that the mods could easily just ban a few people so some of those idiots get the message that just spamming OT with parody threads does have consequences.

yeah, the bar joke threads (except Zim's "Post yours here" and the original one) should have given them a vacation.
 
i agree
parody threads are so not funny, and they cause a lot of confusion in the forum. what's real? what's parody? kind of hard to tell sometimes if you don't sit here all day and look at all the threads

I've done exactly one parody myself, and I thought it was pretty good. 😀

Why do people gripe about stuff posted in Off Topic? After all, it's Off Topic, hence no rhyme or reason. And if we banned everybody who wasn't funny, only Brutuskend would still be posting.
