It would be a private section that only the user can see. In it, we could makes notes about other posters so as to lookback to gauge their responses as to what they have said in the past.

I'm not sure I'm following you... mind cleaning up your post a bit to make it more comprehendable?

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but you could always PM yourself to keep notes on hand.

Exactly! A sort of "secret diary" section. Infact, it could even be titled that.

The PM idea is impractical. A tabbed feature is what I had envisioned as opposed to the PM feature which requires leaving a thread and coming back to it...too cumbersome.

You could just put yourself on your buddies list and whenever you need to make a note, you click your name, the PM window comes up, you send it, and it disappears.

Granted, it definitely isn't easy to organize, but it's better than nothing at all, no?

thus my suggestion for a notes section :)

I feel confident that my idea is not only practicable but would be very handy.

I just wish the "Buddies" list had sub-categories. I mean, half the people in my list aren't my "buddies" at all. >.>

And a notes tab would help you categorize your acquaintances. Hell, I forget why some people are on my buddy list as well. A notes section would help you because you can create a detailed account of the people you come across and know whether or not to avoid them or entertain and reinforce your opinion of them.

That would be a huge waste of database space for the server. I can write ya one in MS Access or VB or somethin if you want.

Are you out of hard drive space on your computer?? Wouldn't it be really simple to just have a few dozen text files in a folder that you can add to as you wish?

on a board i no longer frequent we had a memo area in our profile section. i used to keep phone numbers there and such.

but...i don't expect accomodations as such here. we can't upload avatars, post pics or even set our usertitles - so no perks for you! :p
