Can we get the default avatar changed to a can of Spam?

Excellent idea 😀

Maybe we can have it so that user accounts with less than 10 posts and 30 days or less old all have it? Once they get past either/both of those levels, they can change it? Or is that just too complicated?

Well, I don't think a can of SPAM will get done, considering we already have a can of worms... but something along those lines would be cool.

Worm cans are round and SPAM cans are square, they are completely different!!!

While I hate being the negative one, I think I'm going to have to do so for this thread. Spam(the product) is a registered trademark of Hormel, AT can't use their product as an avatar.

Actually, Hormel Foods has made it quite clear about their position on the use of the SPAM name as a reference to this:
While Hormel does not object to the use of the term "spam" to refer to unwanted communications, they do take issue with companies using the SPAM name or imagery - including the famous can pictured - inside their own individual trademarks, claiming that it dilutes their brand name.

Using the word "SPAM" or even the picture is fine, as long as it's not contained within another trademark or product. They don't like "SpamCop" or "SpamKiller" as a name, but simply calling someone a "spammer" or their messages "spam" is fine.

And if there's insurmountable legal issues, I already proposed an alternative:

If there's too many trademark issues, how about "SPAMMER" in bold text? 😛

Because alphabetically it's first on the list. "African American" 😉

Since the Spam avatar is out how about renaming the "clown" avatar to "AAA Clown"? 😛
