Can we get some enforcement on [spoiler] tags?

Perennial fucktard sourceninja posted spoilers in this Dragon Age thread and refuses to use the spoiler tag because he thinks it was obvious from the beginning. Well he already fucked up that part of the game for me but he refuses to edit his posts to add the tags. What's the point of
tags if they're not enforced at all? Does the PC Gaming subforum even have moderators?

Wouldn't it have been more effective to just flag his post? -DrPizza

Does reading about a certain event really spoil your enjoyment of a game?

Well it kind of ruins a part of the plot, yes.

but the spoiler doesn't tell how it happens, what leads up to it, or anything like that.

take for example the "Snape Killed Dumbledore" spoiler.

it doesn't say when he kills him, how he kills him, or what leads up to it, which, is an integral part of the plot.

to me.. "snape kills dumbledore" doesn't spoil anything.

It spoils both that Dumbledore gets killed and that Snape does the killing. I suspect you care about plots you would prefer not to be spoiled and would be left cold by my explanation that they weren't spoilers... to me.

Whether you personally think spoilers are major or minor matters less than your (honest) appraisal of how the people you divulge it to will view it. As such, Harry Potter spoilers are likely very minor here but the same thing cannot hardly be said about PC game spoilers in the PC gaming sub-forum.

Spoiler tags need to be enforced. Copy and pasting from my response to pigfucker sourceninja:

The basic point is that on an online forum for internet gamers, it's in incredibly bad form to undermine the enjoyment of other gamers, when you could just as easily discuss gameplay mechanics and difficulty without revealing character names or plot.

It's simple courtesy.

If we don't have respect for the topic that brings us to this forum, what's the point of being here?

I don't care if a thread is ABOUT spoilers, but it's really fucked up to put spoilers in a thread clearly marked about MECHANICS, not plot.

If you don't want spoilers stay off the internet. Enforcement? Laughable.

Also don't read newspapers and magazines because their movie and book reviews may also contain spoilers.

Enforcement is only as laughable as the effort put into it.

This last statement should clearly be a valid point. It has been my recollection that even in Fusetalk it was proper courtesy to keep spoilers to a thread that proclaims it in the title or is obviously contains content that may include spoilers.

Howabout an infraction for posting spoilers when not indicated? I mean, they seem to be handed out like candy these days on vB, right?

Starting your post with "Perennial fucktard" just makes you look like a Perennial fucktard.

The OP does have a point. Spoilers should be moderated, in my opinion.

You guys are good readers. I usually get to the 3rd word and start thinking about what to eat for dinner or what I forgot to do for school.

How hard is it to choose not to read a topic or post?
