You know the movies I'm talking about, where their soundtracks are like band music but absolutely awesome.

Star Wars - pretty much every song.
Star Trek - the song playing during this clip - what a freaking masterpiece of epicness
Last of the Mohicans -
Das Boot - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJv9hwcTTqw&list=PLA40824BB65D8BCC6&index=2
Dune (to a lesser extent, but I loved it) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUgaw6MyF0k&list=PLB2F7CC7864261450&index=2

Post some more epic movie or other big-band sounding shit!!!!

The Close Encounters scene when they are communicating with the lights is pretty epic...

Symphonic music with a substantial brass and woodwind role?

Ravel's Bolero might interest you.

I'm just glad someone else made a music thread.

Movie soundtracks? Other than solos, everything else is played by a band of some sort.

Like this?

Interestingly I read the last of the mohicans in Chinese... Parents got me a world literature book set and I read them all several times. Mostl likely they were abridged.

<---- Used to be a bookworm that occasionally get kicked out of the house so I'll play with other kids

And most of the spaghetti westerns scored by Ennio Morricone.
I didn't find out until a couple years ago that he did opera stuff too, I was talking to my partner's dad and he was going on about opera stuff and mentioned Morricone and he said "I'm not sure if you'd know who he is" to which I said "Of course I do!", and he wasn't sure if I was serious.

Not a movie-soundtrack but close enough for a Salty-thread! ;)

"the London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices take us on a tour of Skyrim’s soundtrack, recorded at the prestigious Alexandra Palace Theatre"
