can we combine 2 $40 DTV coupons to buy a better convertor box?

This is probably why they ran out of funding for more coupons. People getting them even though they don't need them or getting mulitple coupons.

Heck, look at all the 'expired' coupons...

As of
1/20/09
46,502,588 coupons mailed
14,039,258 coupons expired
49,808,221 coupons requested
2,567,839 coupons on wait list

Over 14 million expired.

And now, the idiots in congress want to extend the timetable to June, form Feb 19th?

First, they probably have no idea where the money actually went. I'm also pretty sure people got them when they didn't need them either because they were dumb or they were trying to resell them. Letting the govt. run a program like this is like burning the money.

Exactly, there was alot of "free money" on the floor somewhere

I thought that more coupons would become available as old ones expired. So there's not really a problem here besides it taking a bit longer.

Damn, millions of $$$ in stamps alone. Wait, USPS is GOVT. So no $$$ wasted, only trees for the paper.

Well, you have a few more months now.

Not yet and not really.

Even if the bill passes the house and is singed into law, it still allows stations to turn off their analog signal anytime between Feb 18 and June 12. I bet that a single tower can cost up to $25,000 per month in electricity.

My bet is most of them go black on Feb 18th, with a few staying on to provide even more confusion caused by your great government.
