Can we add something to the general hardware faq... Why does my CPU show up at 1000 instead of 1400?

This week alone I have seen 3 questions like this on the general hardware forum. I know we still have people that dont read the faq's, but it might help. Tell them to check their jumpers or bios settings to enable 133 bus or something?

Thanks.

I got asked the same question this week by a co-worker, it's unbelievable how common it is.

Except his was an 800 showing up at 600.

It would be a good addition to the FAQ.

Write a short article about the problem to go in the FAQ, and PM it to AnduHui.

Don't just dump the idea in his lap, give him a little help. If you answered the question in the forum already, you have a good start for a FAQ article. I've done this a few times for topics I've come across and Andy has no problem with putting these in the FAQ. However, don't expect him to do all the work. Maintaining the FAQ's is a big job, and he would appreciate a nice well written article to post. He'll give you credit for your work, and you'll be forever immortalized on AT. 😉

I added more RAM, why don't I have more system resources?
How do I use Win2K/WinXP's Recovery Console to access all my files?
Why does my computer reboot itself?

If you want to add something to the FAQs,

1. PM or Email me.
2. Add a post to the sticky thread at the top of GH

There is no guarantee that I will see something if you post in Forum Issues as I am no longer posting actively
