Can water be flushed directly on the CPU??

There are already a few resistances of the heat transfer from Core to shim to heatsink.

Is it safe to flush water straight on the CPU??

Ignore water leakage.

I dont see why not. If you were to limit the water to ONLY the top heat spreader portion, and were to completely seal the system (silicon???), then I dont see how it would differ from putting a big chunk of metal on it.

The only thing that could MAYBE be a problem is if you were to electrify the water some how. But I dont see how that would happen, and would probably pose the same risk as running an electric fan on a heatsink (the big chunk of metal).

Hmm, no erosion/chemical build up issues here? I'm sure it could work, but I don't think it would be a good idea in the long term. Too many disasters waiting to happen. Plus, how would you control the flow of the water so it would travel across the surface of the CPU in an efficient manner (like a cpu waterblock does)? Part of the heatsinks job is to extract heat and give it a surface area that can be quickly and efficiently cooled by passing water.
