Can using a 32-bit Vista Beta 2

Nope, not that I'm aware of. If you have a 64-bit system, you should run 64-bit Vista and file bugs on it though. The more people running 64-bit, the better.
 
Did you check the MD5 of the .iso before you burned it?

If it doesn't match that, your download is corrupt. Download MD5Checker through the Unofficial page linked at the bottom of the MD5 wiki if you need a checker.

Or it may be a bad DVD burn or a hardware problem.
 
One thing about the 64bit version, DONT'T INSTALL THE 64BIT VERSION IT'S HOPELESSLY TERRIBLE, CR4P, BAD!!!!!!!!!11111

No really, the 64bit version is a joke, 10 mins to unzip a 10MB zip file (10 secs on 32bit version), took ages to install ATI cat drivers (pretty quick on 32bit), takes forever to boot, forever to install, really really slow etc etc. I anyone else finding this, I'm using the 32bit version and it's much better, faster etc.

You've got other issues then.....my zip files and rar files are just as quick as my 32bit version and installations, including the ATI drivers likewise. Install was about the same 32/64............

You've got other issues then.....my zip files and rar files are just as quick as my 32bit version and installations, including the ATI drivers likewise. Install was about the same 32/64............

Although saying that I'm installing the 32bit version instead now, but thats only to do with 3rd party drivers not being available for my tv card.


 
I had a similar problem as it got to around 85% copied over during the install and gave me one of the two error codes you mentioned. I downloaded again and checked the MD5 over the two files and they were different. I have since successfully installed Vista 32bit.

I don't even get that far. 🙁

It boots off the DVD, then I get a black and white "Windows is loading files" then after that it goes to a loading bar, similar to what you see when XP is loading, but no Windows logo. Then it just sits there, I can't hear my HDDs moving, and I the light on my DVD ROM isn't flashing either.

Just to clarify, Vista does have the ability create and delete partitions, as Win2k and XP, correct?
 
Yes, it let's you delete, create and format partitions.

I first attempted to install in to a prtition on a hard drive with other partitions on it. The other partition was my data partition containing about 60G of data.
The install process was very slow. At times, I could not see any activity on the hard drive for a long time. It eventually succeeded but with some errors!

Then, I backed up the data and erased the entire hard drive and did the install again. This time, it went through much faster with no errors. I am posting this from Vista (64 bit).
 
If it's hanging during install, wait at least a few minutes. On my machine when it loads the desktop GUI, it sits there with no HDD/DVD activity for a while before loading the rest of the windows.

If your MD5 was good, did you also have the DVD burner program do a data verify after the burn was complete?

Yes, all three times. I'll give it a few more minutes this fourth attempt.

Edit - 4th attemp hung for almost 15 minutes in the same spot with no activity. I'm about ready to call it an issue with SATA hdds and move on.
