Can USB 1.1 cables handle USB 2.0 bandwidth?

I want to know because I just got an external USB 2.0 24X CDRW. My CDRW brought a USB cable and it doesn't say whether it's a 1.1 or a 2.0 cable, but I assume it's 1.1, since it might be cheaper for the manufacturer. I will now buy a USB 2.0 card and want to know if I should also get a USB 2.0 cable, or keep the one I have. In conclusion, are all USB cables the same and able to transfer at USB 2.0 speeds?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I seriously doubt the manufacturer would send a cable that would not handle the bandwidth of the drive it was included with. That would just bring terrible reviews and bad press for them for whatever diff the price may be. I would just use that one for now and if the performance isnt near what is advertised look into one that is known "certified" for 2.0. I hardly think that a CDRW will pass bandwidth so great that some special cable would be necessary though.

cabling is cabling.

While a cheap cable may not be able to allow for the optimal usb2.0 speeds, a quality 1.1 cable will do just fine.

Dont fret. just use the cable.

The only thing i have noticed from usb2.0 cables is that the shielding is braided... but i have see braided shielding on 1.1 cables...
