if you had AMD cards and a CrossFire MB it would work .. you can mix and match Video cards even from different generations. Right now i have a
512bit HD2900
XT/512MB [752/854] CrossFired with a
256bit 2900
Pro/512MB [750/800] and it gives a substantial performance boost.
i may sell my 2900p and possibly crossfire HD2900xt + HD3870X2 for TRI-FrankenFire ... and a further performance increase.
otoh AtM, NVIDIA Cards must be SLi'd with same generation cards of the same core and memory. Hopefully, this will change - SOON! ... and it would also be nice for multi-monitor support with SLi also
if you have an extra PCIe slot, you can use your old card to run a 2nd monitor ... or just sell it while you can still get a few bucks for it
