Got my 670 back from asus after rma but with the 'updated' bios

original factory overclock
base clock 1058 boost clock 1137
repaired ccard
base clock 915 boost clock 980

as you see, the card is slower and running stock 670 clocks. in fact, asus did release a bios update for this card which was just this-slower clocks.

It is well known that these factory overclocked 670 cards were prone to failure. In my case, they needed to resolder something. The official lingo is non-CID repair (non customer induced damage)
although i'll probably just throw them together and see what happens, I was wondering if any gurus here had any suggestions?

Yes, each card boosts to a different level anyway even if they are identical on paper.

Take my cards for example. One is +33 and the other is +60 on the boost clock I set because I wanted them to be even on the overclock with max boost speed. If I set them both to +60 one card will be at a higher boost clock.

It doesn't even matter branding. You could have an Asus card paired with an EVGA card if you wanted. As long as they are both the same model (i.e both GTX 670)
