I've set it up the other way around.

I have it now so it switches amongst displays on my 9800pro.

You can probably do that if you select the tv as the primary display. I'm not really sure though... they make setting video devices up way harder than it should be heh.

instead of starting another thread, and im sorry if i seem to be taking over this thread, (im not, but jus saves starting another video out thread) i was wondering if i could connect the video out from my 6800gt to my TV card? my TV card has s video in and it works as ive tried to play ps2 thru it and it wasnt too bad,

wat i want to do is record my self in windows xp so when im at uni and my dads having trouble sorting things out and setting things up on his new laptop, i can make a quick video showing him where to go and what to do. can i do this? do you hav to turn video out on in the drivers? or is it always on?

You should have no problems with that...at most, you might have to redetect displays in the drivers. :)

Edit: Although it is kinda weird though, lol

It would be WAY easier to use FRAPS for this. But yes, it should work, although the video quality would be terrible, since S-Video out is only 640x480.

can i use the computer monitor and a tv at the same time (surf internet on computer monitor and watch a avi file on tv)?

Yes, you can use the monitor and the TV at the same time and it's easy to configure too. And yes, you can watch an AVI file on one screen and surf the web on the other.

I've done it before, and it's a snap on either ATI or Nvidia cards. In order to do what you are asking (run two outputs at once, eg two monitors or a monitor and a TV) the card needs to have dual RAMDACs. Essentially every Radeon since the 7500/8500 series does this and every GeForce since the GeForce4 series has dual RAMDACs, and that 9250 does - I'm quite sure.

thanks. are there any physical ways of telling if a card is dual ramdac? such as having both vga and dvi means it's dual ramdac?
