Not to mention the flux capacitor and the barion transmorgrifier.

Sometimes Rubycon makes no sense, but come on, you've never seen the degauss option on a CRT monitor? And my sarcasm meter isn't broken, I just feel like making a big deal out of nothing right now.

I just bought a $400 HP PVA monitor (LP2275w) and the damn "power brick" is #1 built into the monitor #2 whining louder than the ambient hiss of Z-5500s. I'm fucking pissed :| Then again, whining CCFLs in the next room over drive me nuts; damn good hearing.

Thanks, I was kind of hoping you would chime in on this one. Now for the real challenge, finding a way to keep certain little fingers from pressing the button on and off

No button, no problem! Just rip it off. ;) You could always hook an electrical lead up to give him a little jolt. Nothing like a little psychological conditioning. :D

Any way you could raise the TV higher from the ground? Taller stand? Put some cheap concrete bricks under the current stand to raise it up?

Good luck!

eh, just use one of those little spray bottles like you use to keep cats off of furniture.

:) This, or else hook up the TV to a power strip, and put the strip where only you can reach it.

the trick is to tie them ( the fingers) under the dorsal guide feathers of a european swallow, because african swallows are not migratory....

It doesn't do the thermionic cathode any good either. Unlike the deguass thermistor, this one is critical to the operation of the set, and irreplaceable.

Well that really depends on how long he waits between cycles. ;)

Ha ha, this is true. Turning it on and off fairly rapidly after it has already "warmed up" (hence, thermionic) effects very little change in the state of the "tube."

Just notice how quickly the pic comes fully back in such a case and stroke your beard sagely . . . after growing one, of course. ;)

He's exploring a new and amazing wonder filled world. He's worth a billion TVs ...let him play and learn, it's good for him.
Remember all the little things he does that annoy you, will serve him well when he grows up and faces a cold and unforgiving world.

If you can't convince him (distract him) not to do it, they sell a button-blocker type device in the safety section of most baby-stores. It affixes to the TV and allows infrared light to pass through so the remote will still work.
