Can trackpad work more like a touchscreen?

Macbook Pro. If I touch any part of my trackpad, is there a method or 3rd party tool to get the mouse pointer to automatically go to that point? I know on touchscreens, your finger is basically the mouse. I want to duplicate the position of my finger on trackpad to that on the screen....I'm not even sure how to google such a question.

One example being if I want to move my cursor to the far right edge and it's currently to the left and I happen to place my finger at the center of the trackpad, I would then have to drag to the right and then lift and redo it again to get the cursor over there.
Many things might be easier for me if my finger on any particular position of the trackpad matched the position onscreen.

I guess I don't understand. I enabled it but it just reads outloud what I'm doing and the gestures were a lot different. Apparently has something to do with voiceover.

I've never heard of any program that offers such functionality. I think it would be detrimental most of the time, since clicking something onscreen requires precision, especially small links. I also did some testing on my trackpad, and it stops picking up my finger near the very bottom. This would be a problem if you wanted to get to something at the bottom of the screen.

Using your example of putting my finger in the middle of the trackpad, I was able to go from the far left of the screen to the far right in one motion. You just have to be sure to drag your finger more quickly. This is similar to how mouse acceleration works on a PC. If it's not working, you can go to System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click > Tracking Speed and increase it.
