If your PC has USB 2.0 capability, get the USB 2.0 drives. I've got one that works with either USB 1.1 or 2.0. It is several times faster on USB 2.0; on 1.1, it feels like I actually AM using a floppy drive. Ok, not quite THAT slow, but the thing is 256MB, so working with files that nearly fill it to capacity, it takes a long time to work with then. With my motherboard's USB 2.0 interface, the drive is snappy, and easy to use with WinXP - plug it in, and it appears in Explorer in about a second.
