No gaming, some 6 year old ati video card. Will be using it as an vmware esx host and a virtualizing freenas inside of it.

from what I've read it's very quiet.
Thanks

gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
AMD 1045t
32gb ram
4 or 5 1tb 3.5: hard drives
iscsi adapter
maybe a fibre channel hba

I have a 600w that it runs fine on but the noise is very annoying

which one?

That is a nice deal, but I can't find any reviews of it, and the specs worry me a bit. It's manufactured by HEC which is typically mediocre, and it is inefficient (not even 80 Plus certified). On the upside, the warranty is 5 years.

I would not buy it, there are better alternatives. There's a nice deal on an 80+ bronze semi-modular Corsair CX500M $31 AR AP. The next best thing is a Gold rated Rosewill Capstone 450W for $60

I've used at least 40 of these at work over the last 6 years or so. None have ever failed, that's why we kept buying them.

The only problem we have had, is there is only 2 SATA connectors about 4 inches apart. The specs claim 5 connectors now, but the last couple we ordered about 2 months ago still only had 2. Maybe we got old stock. We used adapters to work around the issue.

thx, is it quiet? There are 2000+ plus postivive reviews. It's going to be next to my TV so as quiet as possible would be good. Thanks

That's pretty nice. Then again, office PC's typically have such low loads that it'd be pretty unlikely for any of them to fail unless it's a dud to begin with

It's some old ATI Firegl 5000? Hm the Cx500m looks interesting. I'm mostly looking for a quiet PS.

Now that I look at the pics, that power supply is completely different than the W0070 power supplies we have. Apparently Thermaltake redesigned it, and kept the same model number. Ours look like this:

The reviews on Newegg seem to be for the old model as well, since many mention only 2 SATA connectors, and two fans.

I've also used the Corsair lehtv linked to. Very quiet, and the modular cables are nice. I'd go with that one for the price.
