Wouldn't the cooling power far exceed one 120mm powerful fan?

Don't I see those tiny fans moving only 2 CFM? One of those makes 24dB, but coupling 'em will get you a higher noise level... Better get yourself a big and silent one, it'll be much cheaper as well...

Think about it...if each fan moves 2 CFM of air, five of them will move 10 CFM. My Nexus low speed (1000rpm) 120mm case fan will move 37 CFM. If you even try using the multiple small fans you will fry your CPU. I have a XP-120 with a Panaflo medium speed 120mm fan (86 CFM) and my CPU idles at 31C.

Another thing to think about: small fans make a higher pitched sound than big fans. Thus decibels for different sizes of fans does not mean the same thing. A big fan at 36 dBA (my Panaflo) will probably be less intrusive noise-wise than a "quiet" little fan because of the pitch of the sound coming from them.
