Can this card survive without a heatsink?

I recently purchased a cheap GF2 MX200 PCI video card from E-bay, and when it arrived today, I saw that there was no heatsink, just a bare GPU core.

Is this normal for such an old card, and is there any risk to putting it in my pc? Is this card likely to overheat and die an early death, or does it run cool enough that it doesn't need any kind of heatsink?

Actually you probably didn't get jacked. The lower end GeForce 2's did not have heatsinks on them. I'd say your card will be fine, if you want to put one on yourself for your own piece of mind it wouldn't hurt, but it's not required.

There have been a few cards that were designed without heatsinks on them, I guess this is one of them. It probably would be ok without a hs, but if it was me I would probably stick one on.

Thx for the feedback. If the card was designed to run ok without a heatsink, does anyone know where to find a cheap heatsink with thermal tape, like you might find on a Raddy 7000? I looked at Newegg, and maybe I didn't know where to look, but all I saw was an Iceberg HSF for ~$14/shipped. I only paid $17 for it, and a Vantec HSF seems a bit of an overkill for this card.
