Can this be done in Ontario? Use tax id to buy laptop

I got some advice to buy get a tax ID from a business to buy a laptop so I won't have to pay the tax... but that's from someone who lives in the US. I live in Toronto and my dad owns a small store. So can this be done here too? Looking to get a Dell laptop for school and getting that 15% off would be awesome..

Ah, I see. I guess I'll have to look into alternatives.. since it's tough as hell trying to find coupons for the Canadian Dell site..
