Can they charge your credit card before they ship?

I placed an order with A2Zcomp.com on the 19th and they charged my credit card on the 20th.
I talked to them on the 21st, not knowing at that time they had charged my CC, they said they were out of stock and they might be able to ship it on the 22nd.

I didn't think they could charge until the item was shipped. Who knows maybe they won't get it in stock for a month but I've already been charged.

Does anybody know if it's a law and if so how I should proceed?

Thanks,
Steve

They can charge you when they want. Now of course if you cancel before they ship they have to refund all your money. But they can charge now, and ship later.

classier companies usually don't. If you get to fill out a service poll, complain like heck.
