can the upcoming alpha 8045 last thru future processor updates?

i was wondering this because why do people shell out big money for processor that are really cheap now..i mean...is the swiftech mc462 or alpha 8045 going to be good for hammer series when it comes out? Or do you need to just change to a more powerful fan?

You will probably need a less powerful fan.

I don't think too many chips out there will ever put out the heat that a 1.4TB does.

Edit: What I mean to say is -- as CPU's improve and dies shrink, temps drop. Notice that 1.2MP's and P4's put out less heat than current TB's

As long as the four mounting holes remain standard, adapting a Swiftech MC462 or an Alpha 8045 (with their spring systems) to newer sockets/CPU's shouldn't be a problem.
